Bought this for a road trip and it honestly saved us. My 5-year-old was completely focused on finding the hidden items, and I loved that there was zero mess in the car. The colors appearing and disappearing still feels like magic to him. We’ve reused it several times already and it hasn’t fallen apart.
This book is such a clever idea. My daughter likes that only the correct objects show color, so it turns into a little challenge instead of random coloring. It’s been great for quiet time after school, and she feels proud doing it on her own.
I keep this in my bag for restaurant waits. My 4-year-old usually gets restless, but this keeps him busy without screens. The water pen is easy to hold and doesn’t leak. Definitely getting another Skillmatics book next time.
Fun and engaging, but I wish there were more pages. My son finished all five boards quickly because he enjoyed it so much. The reusability helps, and he still goes back to it, but it feels a bit limited overall.
We used this on a flight and it was perfect. No crayons rolling everywhere and no cleanup. My 6-year-old liked racing herself to find all the objects. The colors fade pretty fast, which keeps her from over-wetting the pages.
This is a solid activity book, though my 8-year-old thought it was a bit easy. My younger child (age 5) loved it way more. I’d recommend it more for the lower end of the age range.
My preschooler feels very “grown up” using the water pen by himself. I like that it helps with focus and observation instead of just coloring randomly. It’s become part of our nightly quiet routine.
We’ve tried a lot of mess-free books, and this one actually works. The pages are thick and haven’t warped even with repeated use. My twins share it pretty well, which says a lot.
Cute concept and nicely made, but the pen is a bit small for my son’s grip. He can still use it, though he needs occasional help. Overall, it works as promised but isn’t perfect for younger kids.
This was a hit during winter break. My daughter kept saying, “Look, I found it!” which made me realize how engaging it really is. I appreciate that it builds skills without feeling like homework.
I like that it’s educational without being obvious. My 7-year-old enjoys the challenge of finding everything before the colors fade. It’s a calm, focused activity, which is rare in our house.
The book is sturdy and well-designed. My only complaint is that the water pen needs refilling fairly often when my kids get enthusiastic. Still, that’s a small issue.
Perfect stocking stuffer for my niece. She immediately sat down and started playing on her own. My sister loved that there was no mess on her couch afterward.
My son enjoys it, but he loses interest after about 15–20 minutes. I think it works best in short sessions rather than long playtimes. It’s still useful for travel.
This is one of those toys that actually does what the box says. Mess-free, reusable, and engaging. We’ve already taken it to grandma’s house and on a car ride.
I bought this as a screen-free option and my 5-year-old enjoys it and can play independently. It’s a good choice for that purpose, but overall it’s fairly simple and doesn’t hold attention for very long.
The search-and-find aspect is really well done. Some items are tricky enough to make kids slow down and really look. My daughter treats it like a game instead of an activity book.
Nice idea and fun visuals, but I wish there were more variety across the pages. After a while, the scenes start to feel similar. Still a good quality product.
This has been great for quiet mornings. My son sits at the table and works through each page carefully. I appreciate that it encourages patience and attention.
