Bring a little extra holiday magic to playtime with our Holiday I Spy Printable Activity. This simple, easy-to-set-up game turns everyday materials into an exciting activity kids will love. Whether you're setting it up for a cozy afternoon at home or adding it to your holiday activity lineup, it’s a fun, screen-free way to boost observation, counting, and problem-solving skills - all while keeping little ones happily engaged.

How to play

  1. Print the Holiday I Spy activity sheet.
  2. Place page 1 of the printable flat on a table and put a clear baking dish over it. Add water and dark food coloring (we recommend green or red) - but be prepared for possible spills! Put a clear glass into the baking dish. Let your child slowly slide the glass across the dish, so the printed images become visible through the glass as it moves. As your child spots objects in the printable, they can check them off on page 2 of the printable.
  3. For an added challenge, ask the child to count how many of a specific item they find, and write that number in the corresponding box on page 2 of the printable.
