St. Patrick’s Day Activity Idea - Make a Leprechaun Trap?
Start this St. Patrick's day tradition at your house today!
Set up a leprechaun trap the night before St. Patrick's Day. If you wake up to find gold coins or treats in the trap, you'll know you've caught a leprechaun!
Your little one will love helping to create the leprechaun trap from our free printable. Just make sure your child wakes up to some gold that the “leprechaun” leaves behind - or some little treats.
You'll need :
- A small cardboard box of your choice
- Popscicle sticks
- Clear tape
- Glue
- Scissors
- Cut outs from our free Skillmatics printable (Click to download here )
Steps to make your DIY Leprechaun Trap
Step 1
Wrap the box with any of the background sheets available in our printable. Make sure you cover all edges and corners. Once you finish doing so, use two ice cream sticks to prop up the rainbow as shown in the image.
Step 2
Glue some small gold coins on the pot as shown and use a popsicle stick to prop up the pot of gold on the top of the box.
Step 3
Glue bushes on either side of the trap and prop up any sign from the options on the printable sheets.
Step 4
Assemble the ladder for the trap with popsicle sticks. Use glue to make sure the pieces stay together.
Step 5
Place the ladder on the trap as shown in the image.
Step 6
Create a path of signs, and shamrocks to trap the Leprechaun.
Note : Put some gold coins (from the printables) later in the trap to show traces of leprechaun’s visit!
