I bought this for my 7-year-old daughter and ended up having just as much fun as she did. The “magic” reveal really does feel magical the first time you lift the stencils. It’s a great mix of art and science, and I love that it doesn’t make a huge mess.
This kit kept my two boys busy for over an hour, which is a win in my book. The instructions were easy enough for them to follow on their own. Watching the images appear after the light exposure was their favorite part.
Such a creative idea! My daughter loved arranging the stencils and guessing how it would turn out. The colors pop nicely after decorating. I do wish it came with a few more sheets of the sun paper though.
Honestly, I was surprised how well this worked indoors. We just set it by a sunny window and it developed perfectly. It’s a really cool introduction to basic science concepts without feeling like a lesson.
This was a birthday gift for my niece and she absolutely loved it. The googly eyes were a fun touch and made the final artwork really playful. It’s different from typical craft kits, which I appreciated.
Great concept, but I wish the paper lasted longer. My kids went through the sheets pretty quickly because they were excited to keep making more. Might need to buy refills if available.
Super easy setup and cleanup, which is huge for me. No paint spills, no glue disasters. My son was so proud of his finished designs and even hung them up in his room.
This is one of those rare toys that actually delivers on what it promises. The silhouettes come out crisp and clear. It’s a fun mix of creativity and a little bit of science magic.
I got this for my 6-year-old and she needed a little help at first, but once she understood the process, she was off and running. It’s a great confidence booster for independent play.
The idea is fantastic, but the markers included are just okay. They work, but we ended up using our own for brighter colors. Still, the main activity with the sun paper is really fun.
My kids were amazed when the images appeared after just a few minutes. It’s a nice break from screens and something they can do together. I’d definitely recommend it for rainy afternoons.
I love that this kit combines art with a bit of science history. My son actually asked questions about how it works, which turned into a mini learning moment. Totally worth it.
Pretty cool overall, but the stencil pieces are a bit small and easy to lose. I wish they came with some kind of storage pouch. The activity itself is really engaging though.
We used this during a playdate and all the kids were fascinated. It’s simple enough for a group activity and everyone got to take home their own creation. Big hit with parents too.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this turned out to be one of the better craft kits we’ve tried. The “light reveal” concept is unique and actually works consistently.
My 8-year-old loved experimenting with layering different stencils. It really encourages creativity and trying new combinations. I also appreciate that it’s not overly complicated.
It’s a fun idea, but it does require a decent light source to work well. On a cloudy day, the results weren’t as strong. When the sun was out, though, it worked great.
This kit is both calming and exciting at the same time. Designing the layout is relaxing, and then the reveal is the exciting part. My daughter keeps asking to do “just one more.”
Bought this as a gift and ended up ordering another for my own kids. It’s rare to find something that appeals to a wide age range, but this definitely does.
Really thoughtful kit overall. The instructions are clear, the materials are good quality, and the activity feels a little bit magical every time. I just wish there were more sheets included because my kids didn’t want to stop.
